A student is obliged to obey the rules prescribed by BBS. He/she has to attend lectures, participate in auditory and laboratory exercises, study discussions and consultations, participate in practical instructions and carry out practical training, prepare seminar works and fulfill other obligations stipulated by the School Curriculum and By-law. |
|
| Enrolment |
| |
Anyone who has secondary school education can enroll in the three-year business studies. BBS invites applications for studies. Invitation includes the number of students defined for enrolment by departments, conditions of enrolment, conditions and criteria for selection of candidates, invitation implementation procedure as well as deadlines for applying and taking of qualification tests. The candidate acquires the right to enrolment if ranked within the number of students according to criteria specified in the invitation. |
| |
Students of other institutions of higher education and anyone who acquired degrees of other related university institutions can enroll in studies without taking the qualification test, upon payment of appropriate tuition fee, under conditions and in the manner established by BBS Teaching Staff at the proposal of the individual departments’ professional groups. Students’ achievements attained at some other university institution are recognized if the curriculum and methodology of studies at that institution are compatible with those ones they enroll. |
|
| Switchover |
| |
At his/her personal request, a student can change the studies curriculum he/she enrolled only once and that only on registration for the second year of studies.
A student decides upon the studies department on registration for the second year of studies. A student can switch to the other department at his/her personal request by the end of the fourth term.
|
|
| Suspension of rights |
| |
A student can be allowed suspension of rights or exempting from certain obligations at his/her own request in the case of a serious illness, serving or completing the military service, maternity leave, pregnancy maintenance, sending to practical training lasting for a year or longer, as well as in other cases provided for by law and BBS’s enactment. |
|
| Registration of the terms completed and registration for the next year |
| |
A student enrolls studies and registers the accomplishment thereof by terms and years of studies. Procedure of registration for the next year of studies and that of the term completed is regulated by the special enactment passed by BBS’s Faculty according to the department professionals’ proposal.
A student showing excellent achievements in particular fields is appropriately entitled to complete his/her studies within a shorter time, in accordance with BBS’s enactment regulating more closely the conditions and procedures for the exercise of this right.
|
|
| Undergraduates |
| |
A student who has registered the sixth term of studies acquires the status of an undergraduate. Student’s undergraduate status lasts for 12 months counting from the expiration of the sixth term.
A student whose undergraduate status has expired has rights to take the exams fallen behind upon payment of expenses to the amount set by BBS’s enactment. The undergraduate takes exams according to the curriculum by which he/she acquired this status until the expiration of a two-year term upon the date he/she had acquired the undergraduate status. If some undergraduate fails to pass all the exams fallen behind within the specified term, he/she is responsible to pass the exams according to the current curriculum. |
|
| Repetition of the year |
| |
A student is entitled to complete his/her studies by the curriculum that was in force at the time of enrolment in BBS.
If even after one repeated year of studies, a student fails to meet the requirements concerning the registration for the next year of studies. He/she will continue his studies in compliance with the new curriculum, should curriculum amendments have been accepted in the meantime.
A student repeating the year of studies is obliged to bear the cost of the repeated year to the amount set by BBS’s enactment. |
|
| Exams |
| |
An exam represents the final level of learning achievement verification for the particular subject. The program of studies establishes methods the exams are taken and criteria for knowledge assessment at the exam.
Marks for the knowledge shown at the exams range from 5 (fail) to 10 (excellent).
A student is entitled at his/her own request to retake the exam passed by the end of the academic year in which he/she got the mark. If a student gets a higher mark at the repeated exam than he has achieved in the subject he/she is taking again, the higher mark is recorded in his/her matriculation book and students’ records. On the contrary, the same mark, achieved at the previous exam taking, remains in student’s matriculation book and records. At student’s request, the repeated exam is taken before the commission appointed by the head of appropriate department. |
